Our incumbent candidates are highly knowledgeable about the responsibilities of school board membership, having earned the New Jersey School Board certifications of Certified Board Member, Master Board Member, and Certified Board Leader. These certifications were achieved through extensive board member training, far exceeding the basic requirements that all board members must meet. In contrast, not all candidates seeking election have pursued these advanced certifications, underscoring our team’s commitment to professional development and effective governance.
Volunteerism / Community
Our Hoffman, Van Ginneken, and Altieri candidates have made significant contributions to community volunteer service. Whether as PTA members, youth sports coaches, Knights of Columbus members, or volunteers on various township committees, our candidates are committed to serving the community year-round. Their decades of continuous dedication to volunteerism demonstrate their unwavering support for our community every season.
Family
Our candidates, Ron Hoffman, David Van Ginneken, and Jeffrey Altieri, have deep ties to our community and are committed to family values. Ron Hoffman, a father and grandfather, lives with his adopted grandson, who also went through the Hardyston School District, showing his dedication to being there for family. David Van Ginneken, a husband and father, lives with his wife and daughter, who just started an honors program at SHU, and he is also a proud grandfather to twin babies. His daughter and stepson are Hardyston School District alumni, reflecting his strong connection to our schools. Jeffrey Altieri, a father of two young daughters currently in our school system, shares the experiences of many parents and is actively involved in our community. Together, they understand the importance of family and are dedicated to advocating for the needs of all families in our district.
